Dr. Michael Miller is the Founding Partner, President of Oneida Equine Service and has been a practicing equine veterinarian for over ten years. Dr. Miller is extremely proficient in equine reproduction and medicine but enjoys all facets of equine practice, with a special interest in emergency/Critical Care. After pursuing a pre-medicine undergraduate track after high school, Dr. Miller followed his childhood passion of helping animals and people, completing his veterinary degree (DVM) at Michigan State University in May of 2010. Instead of entering general practice almost new graduates do, Dr. Miller joined the University of Illinois Large Animal Hospital, the largest tertiary care center in the region. Rotating between the Large Animal Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and emergency/Critical Care Services as a house officer. With the desire to specialize even further, he accepted a residency at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Comparative Theriogenology (Reproductive Medicine). During his post-doctoral training, Dr. Miller spent significant time as part of the Critical & Intensive Care, Anesthesiology Departments furthering his clinical experience in the management of patients in critical condition with severe, life-threatening diseases.
Before starting Oneida Equine, Dr. Miller previously was the Staff Veterinarian of a major commercial standardbred breeding farm in Pennsylvania and Kentucky and was also an Associate Clinician & Hospitalist(reproduction & medicine services) at a large referral practice in the upstate NY Region. Dr. Miller looks forward to growing Oneida Equine Service bringing tertiary level care and experience directly to your farm or stable in Central New York. Dr. Miller maintains strong clinical affiliations with Cornell University, Rhinebeck Equine, and Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center.
Dr. Miller is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Society of Theriogenologists, and is a founding member of the North American Association of Racetrack Practitioners (NAARV).
